Tails Aside

I mean Tales...or mythification.
My wife and I were taking a walk before the Apple Cup (The Husky-Cougar match-up)and ran across a house divided, speaking of tents, big or united. The game was not really on my mind that morning when I whipped up the tale of Cats and Dogs, but as we walked by this house, the wind must have blown, and their flag seemed to speak for the future. Huskies won 35-28 with 44 seconds left. It was a bad week for cats which will hopefully lead to a good week or more for 44.
[12-8-10 And Remember the Wave and the base is of. And Obama is no Cheer Leader, nor Third Way, but maybe of the Fifth Dimension.] The Ribble(Pun) here is that my thought ran to the cheerleaders Reagan and Bush, but it is interesting to note two more, FDR and Eisenhower.

Amazing Precedence

Not really, I occasionally agree with a Republican. Senator Richard Lugar(Republican) challenges Democrats to hold the vote on the "Trust but Verify". And I would say to all Democrats "call their bluff". But there is a bit of false equivalence*, in staying the course.[**]

Pardon my Cheney...(name calling and deleteds aside) it is not the "loonies" but the dis-enthused and profits of train wrecks* who may cost the Democrats.

Game On!

[POSTED 10-22-10 10:37 AM]
Good Cop, Bad Cop Over:
If the Democrats manage to hold on, for the first time in a long time they would have an incentive to fight back against a system that is rigged in favor of the rich and the powerful. Because those same folks just declared war on them. If they don't join the battle soon, they are going to get wiped out in 2012. If you thought business interests spent a lot of money in this election, wait till you get a load of 2012.

To be clear, of course not all business interests are nefarious. They are a very legitimate constituency to consider when making policy. But when corporations use their power to kill a bill that would have stopped subsidies for offshoring jobs, then that is exactly the kind of abuse of power that is hurting this country. And that just happened last month.(Cenk Uygur)

It should be apparent that if so much money is going against the Democrats and for the Republicans, then there is a major difference between the two, and voters may know that more than the money and polls will tell.

Three Clauses for

Freud!
“What if [Obama] is so outside our comprehension, that only if you understand Kenyan, anti-colonial behavior, can you begin to piece together [his actions]?" Gingrich asks. "That is the most accurate, predictive model for his behavior."

"This is a person who is fundamentally out of touch with how the world works, who happened to have played a wonderful con, as a result of which he is now president," Gingrich tells us.

"I think he worked very hard at being a person who is normal, reasonable, moderate, bipartisan, transparent, accommodating -- none of which was true," Gingrich continues. "In the Alinksy tradition, he was being the person he needed to be in order to achieve the position he needed to achieve . . . He was authentically dishonest."
Aye of Newt!
[bold irony]

Bane(Or) Change

[11-17-11 Update Labels]
I guess my chant was heard. But it is not substantial.

There are still three ways of looking at it.
Boehner Change(noun) = debt up, government down
Boehner Change(verb) = nuanced no
Bane or Change(choice) = Reverse or Drive
Might he be bending to the mighty Dem mo'.

Then there is the False flag of divisiveness or moderation?
A pre-curse-or-Y look at narrative? Gingrich supports colonialism**, and in conjunction with Blair, confirms the narrative, the U.S. is more than* patronizing or condescending to the world. I prefer the practical, incremental and political nuances. I feel that there is a major difference in the diplomacy and strategy in the Middle East, compared to the Bush Rumsfeld Cheney unified blame 1% solution.

*[bold irony] It is difficult to balance our national security with national politics in the aim of international justice, let alone diplomacy. Congress in the name of the people must play an important part in the checks and balances as well as the separation of powers. It is a lot easier to say make it so, or make it no, than to make progress. [Segue in time.]

** emphasis "precursory" yet that is the Blair which
projection in the academic twilight*** zone.
*** Gingrich and D'Souza are scary academics

In Balance...

Re: prized.
I thought McClatchy was a reliable publication, but I want to be careful not to think different based on one article or journalist.(or 2) Another reportedly reputable source (FiveThirtyEight)may have more perspective or less*.
*not to dis one or the other article or source but: Reputable is in the eye of the beholder, reliable is in the light of reality. We shall see.

[SEE Comment:(*...*) speaking of sources... a flip-flop. See The Blaze and the "Stand."]

[Or I could be lost in the media error that:
Obama = Black Liberation Theology = Catholic Liberation History And BINGO!

[Pre date and update. Happy Labor Day!]

(*...*)Notes major segue: from first comment to second, as the "he" in latter is Glenn Beck, which represents leap from Glenn Beck's famous trinity to actual justice in our society.

Ground Zero & Logical Relativism?

[Please note that I stumbled upon this link 2-13-11 and believe it may have been held in draft]

OK, I will not expound upon whatever my headline means, except for this poll.
But have we learned anything from the Shirley Sherrod episode?
Others have a more nuanced stand, while Keith Olbermann attempts some perspective.
[Nuanced footnote: Grounds: Zero?. And yet, I can support* Harry Reid's statement, realizing he may know the difference which Republicans don't, basically like Chris Hayes does not support The National Review, but does not intend to ban it. It seems to hinge(or spin) on freedom and opportunity.
* I am using the word "support", which Hayes says is not the right word, but I use it in the Right's context. All words are nuanced or in context, which disconnects** many from the cause and effect of nature and progress, let alone values or taste.]

In Balance

In a recent conversation with a rather critical* or independent Democrat(i.e. moderate or typical American) the issue of why the Democrats might lose in the mid-term elections came up. I don't think he used the word populism, but he did note that something should be done about jobs, or rather outsourcing/imports and addressing it dramatically with some sort of tariff. The discussion revolved around doing something, even if it was not the effective thing; it would be what the people want and it would show that the Democrats were doing something. One of the tangents took off on the Arizona immigration laws, as an example of the states doing something because the federal government wasn't. And fighting them in court was wrong, because it went against what the people wanted. i.e. do something about China and imports because it looked right, not necessarily that it would be most effective.

Needless to say the conversation did not go exactly like this, but this is possibly clearer than my usual meandering.**

*bordering on cynical
** this is not mine, nor meandering
